A man was pronounced deceased after a solo-car crash on US 59, south of Diboll, last Tuesday.
At around 2:30 p.m., Department of Public Safety troopers responded to an auto collision on US 59 in Polk County. According to the report, a 2018 Chevrolet pickup truck was heading south on the highway when it went out of control and veered off the roadway and struck a guardrail. The pickup truck rolled a number of times before coming to rest. Initial investigation indicates that the driver of the car suffered from a medical emergency which caused him to lose control of the vehicle.
The driver, who was only identified as a 63-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene by a Polk County justice of the peace.
No one else was injured.
DPS said they found about 165 pounds of what they believe to be marijuana.
