Dickinson ISD school bus catches fire in Bay Colony subdivision

GALVESTON COUNTY, TX — A Dickinson ISD school bus carrying middle students caught fire Wednesday evening during its route in a Galveston County subdivision, reports KHOU11.
Officials said Bus route #1702 was dropping off middle school students in the Bay Colony subdivision when its engine compartment caught fire.
The bus driver was able to quickly pull over and get all remaining students off the vehicle before the flames spread.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
Dickinson Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire, which appeared to have begun near the front of the bus.
All parents and guardians were notified of the event, and Dickinson ISD dispatched another bus to complete its route.
An investigation into the cause of the blaze was underway.
