Dickens County – Saragosa Ramirez Died in Solo-Car Crash on SH 70

The Texas Department of Public Safety has released the name of the man who died in a car crash on State Highway 70, Tuesday morning.
The fatality was identified as 80-year-old Saragosa Moreno Ramirez.
Initial reports indicate that Ramirez was driving a 2010 Ford pickup truck along the northboun lane of SH 70 when he suddenly lost control of the car. The pickup truck then drifted to the opposing lanes, left the roadway, and overturned a number of times. As a result, Ramirez sustained serious injuries and was pronounced deceased by emergency crews who responded. Police said the fatality was wearing his seat belt at the time of the incident. They also added that there was a significant rainfall at that time.
No one else was injured.
Area investigators are still determining liability.
