Denton – Woman Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Dallas Drive Identified

The Denton Police Department has released the name of the woman who died in a fatal car accident on Dallas Drive in Denton last week, January 9th.
The fatality was identified as 51-year-old Melissa K. Rodriguez.
According to initial reports, the incident took place at the 200 block of Dallas Drive. Rodriguez was seen standing near the road when she was struck by a passing vehicle. She sustained fatal injuries from the impact of the crash and was immediately taken to the local hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries a few days later. Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle involved is cooperating with local authorities. It is not yet confirmed if he will be facing charges.
No one else was injured.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
