Decatur – Pedestrian killed on U.S. 380

Authorities are conducting an investigation following a pedestrian collision involving a truck on US 380 near a manufacturing facility, Thursday morning.
According to initial reports, the tragic incident took place at around 8:45 a.m. The pedestrian was near the facility when it got struck by an 18-wheeler truck that was traveling east on the highway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators identified the victim as 27-year-old Jeffrey Scheller. The driver of the truck was not injured from the crash. He stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the police.
Wise County EMS, Decatur Fire Department, DPS and the sheriff’s office were also requested at the scene to help in the investigation.
