Deadly Friday Collision Kills Rider at Monroe Boulevard

The Houston Police Department is still investigating a collision that caused the death of one person on Monroe Boulevard, last Friday evening.
According to police reports, the collision took place during a police chase in southeast Houston. A Harris County deputy was reportedly chasing a motorcycle when it slammed into a passing SUV at the 7400 block of Monroe Boulevard. The motorcycle driver died from the impact. The deputy involved did not release any information about the chase.
An occupant in the SUV sustained injuries from the crash. Details on whether he was rushed to a hospital or treated at the scene were not immediately made available.
No citations were issued as the investigation is still in progress.
