De Leon – Diana Hughes Died in Two-Car Collision on Hwy 16

The De Leon woman who died in a fatal vehicle crash on Highway 16 has been identified by local police, according to a local news source.

The fatality was named Diana Lynn Hughes, 71.

Hudges was operating a 2007 Ford Focus along the southbound lane of State Highway 6, one mile south of De Leon, when she failed to negotiate a curve and drifted into the northbound lane. The Ford then crashed into a 2016 Mack truck that was heading north, killing Hughes on scene. The driver of the truck, who was identified as Armando Deluna from Brownwood, sustained injuries as a result of the crash. He was taken to Comanche County Medical Center in Comanche and later released.

No charges have been made as the investigation is still ongoing. Police are still determining why Hughes lost control of the car.
