Dallas – Olivia Mendez Died in Tragic Car Crash on Lake June Road

Dallas Police Department has released the identification of the 9-year-old girl who died in a suspected drag racing incident on Lake June Road, Friday evening.
According to initial reports, the incident took place at around 7:30 p.m. at the 10700 block of Lake June Road. Three vehicles, described as Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger and Ford Mustang, were reportedly drag racing along the eastbound lanes of the road when the Challenger collided with a Chevrolet Impala heading west off Lake June Road.
The impact of the collision ejected a back seat passenger in the Impala who was later identified as Olivia Mendez, 9. Mendez was immediately taken to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Another passenger, identified only as a 3-year-old child, was also sent to Children’s Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
