Dallas – Mother and Child Killed in Auto Crash on Elam Road

The Dallas Police Department is investigating a vehicle collision between a pickup and an SUV which killed two people on Elam Road, Wednesday night.
According to a local news source, police officers responded to the 10000 block of Elam Road near North Masters Drive at around 11:15 p.m. The crash happened when a sports utility vehicle, that was attempting to make a left turn from Elam, collided with a pickup truck that was reportedly going at an unsafe speed. Police said that the pickup struck the right front corner of the SUV as it entered the intersection near North Masters.
The driver of the SUV, identified as 35-year-old Heladia Ochoa, was pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger, identified as Heladia’s son, Santini Ochoa, was transported to Baylor where he succumbed to his injuries.
The truck’s driver, a identiifed only as a 25-year-old man, was sent to a hospital with a broken leg. Authorities said that he will be facing charges of intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault.
