Dallas – Laquita Day and Lillian Ward Died in DUI Collision on Clark Rd

42-year-old Laquita Day and 30-year-old Lillian Ward were identified as the fatalities who died in a collision involving a drunk driver on Clark Road, early Saturday morning.
According to initial investigation, Day and Ward were seen in a 2012 Infiniti traveling along the westbound lane of Clarkridge Drive. At around 12:40 a.m., a 1991 Chevrolet pickup truck that was heading south struck the passenger side of the Infiniti, leaving both occupants severely injured. The passenger was declared deceased at the scene while the driver of the Infiniti was rushed to a hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries a few moments later.
The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as Henry Diaz-Vargas, sustained moderate injuries and was hospitalized. After released, he was booked into the Dallas County jail Saturday and charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter.
No other injuries were reported.
