Dallas—Cassandra Lizardi Injured in Interstate 35 Collision

The two victims injured by a hit-and-run driver on Interstate 35 have been identified, according to a local news source.
Last January 13, an orange cab with a white trailer was traveling along I-35 when it made an unsafe lane change and struck another vehicle. The impact then sent the car spinning, hit another passing vehicle, and struck a wall. Two occupants in the said vehicle suffered from fractures and head injuries. They were rushed to Parkland Hospital where they remained hospitalized for almost two weeks. Authorities identified the victims as Cassandra Lizardi and Kaylee Jensen. They were college roommates and both 21 years of age.
The driver of the semi-trailer did not stop to render aid to the victims. Instead, he fled the scene and remains at large as of this writing. His identification has not been disclosed.
The investigation continues.
