Dallas – Alejandro Chavez Killed in Interstate 45 Wrong Way Crash

Last Friday morning, police have identified the 19-year-old male victim who died in a car accident on Interstate 45 in Wilmer.
According to police officials, the accident happened at around 4:30 a.m. on I-45 near Wintergreen Road. Based on a preliminary investigation, an undescribed vehicle was heading on the opposite direction along the northbound lanes of the highway when it crashed into another car. The impact of the collision caused one car to overturn while the other flipped on its side. Another vehicle also burst into flames.
Authorities said that one person died as a result of the crash. He was identified as 19-year-old Alejandro Chavez.
Another person sustained injuries and was rushed to a local hospital for further care. He hasn’t been identified as of the moment.
The crash remains under investigation.
