Two women were pronounced deceased after a pickup truck collided with a car on Clark Road in Dallas’ Mountain Creek area, Saturday midnight.

At around 12:40 a.m., a white 1991 Chevrolet pickup truck was seen traveling along the southbound lane when, for reasons that had not been determined by local police, it crashed into a 2012 Infiniti that was heading west on Clarkridge Drive.

A passenger and the driver of one of the vehicles sustained life-threatening injuries from the force of the impact. They were taken to a local hospital where they were declared deceased. Their identification was withheld.

The driver of the pickup truck, identified as Henry Diaz-Vargas, sustained moderate injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment. He was then booked into the Dallas County jail with two counts of intoxication manslaughter. His bail has been set at $100,000.

No further details were available as the investigation is still ongoing.
