Cypress – Auto vs Pedestrian Crash on Barker Cypress Road

A pedestrian crash on Barker Cypress Road caused the death of one person, Monday.
According to the initial investigation, the incident took place at around 2:00 a.m. on Barker Cypress Rd. Police said a pedestrian was walking across the tracks near Northwest Freeway when a passing Union Pacific train struck him. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear at this time but responding officers confirmed that the victim sustained significant injuries as a result of the collision. He was then pronounced deceased by emergency crews who responded to the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
Cypress law enforcement officials were requested at the scene to determine liability. The investigation is still in progress.
