Four vehicles crashed into one another on Saturday, January 19, 2019, in Crosby, injuring several children.
The Harris County deputies said that the crash was reported to be around 8:45 p.m. in the 13000 block of FM 2100, and several were injured, but it is unknown how many children exactly.
According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, only one of the children was wearing a seatbelt. Another child who was transported by helicopter to a hospital is said to recover soon.
As of right now, deputies are still investigating the cause of the collision.
It is unfortunate to hear of what happened to the individuals involved in this particular accident, but it is even more unfortunate to realize that they are not the only victims of car accidents. Car accidents are alarmingly common nowadays; in fact, according to the National Highway Traffic Administration (NHTSA), car accidents happen almost every minute of every day, and for every 16 minutes, a car accident occurs that results in death. That can be translated to roughly about 6 million car accidents every year and 90 people dying in car accidents every day in the U.S. alone.
DUI (driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs), speeding, and driving while distracted are three of the most common causes of car accidents.
If you are a victim of a car accident, or you know someone who is, then don’t lose hope. The police will always be there for you, but more than that, car accident lawyers/personal injury lawyers are also willing to help you in protecting your rights and in getting you the justice that you deserve.
