Local authorities are still investigating a car collision at the intersection of Farm to Market Road 1053 and Farm to Market Road 1233 last Monday.
At an unspecified time last Monday, the Crane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a vehicle accident on said cross streets. A pickup truck was traveling along FM 1053 when it collided with an 18-wheeler truck. According to a preliminary investigation, the truck either went across the road or was attempting to make a turn towards FM 1053 causing the pickup truck to hit its side.
The impact of the collision trapped the pickup driver inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by paramedics from the wreckage. He was rushed to a hospital via helicopter. His identification and condition have not been disclosed.
No other injuries were reported.
No charges have been made as the investigation is still in progress.
We are deeply saddened for the family and loved ones of the injured victim. Our prayers and thoughts are with them. We strongly believe that the Crane County Police Department will do everything to bring those responsible to justice.
Texas is among the states in the US that have the most car accidents which involved injuries and fatalities every year. Some of the common factors contributing to the rising cases of collisions in the area include the worsening traffic situation, weather conditions, and poor driving habits.
Bad driving habits are the greatest cause of a fatal crash. It can be lethal to the person behind the wheel, as well as the drivers on the road. Drivers who do not use their signal to change lanes or those who do not secure their blind spots before shifting direction are more likely to be involved in an accident. Some of the most dangerous driving habits include speeding, unsafe lane change, tailgating, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. If you or someone you love has been a victim of a car accident with a negligent driver, you have a right to fair compensation for the trauma you experienced and the injuries you have suffered.
