Corpus Christi – Woman Died in Auto vs Pedestrian Crash on Interstate 37

A fatal pedestrian crash on Interstate Highway 37 near Mckenzie Road resulted in the death of a woman, a local news source reported.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., Corpus Christi police were dispatched to the 10200 block of Interstate 35 to assist in a collision involving a car and a pedestrian. According to the initial investigation, a woman had just gotten out of her vehicle when a passing car struck her. The impact sent the female pedestrian into the northbound lanes, leaving her with serious injuries to the body and head. She later died at the scene.

Meanwhile, the driver who struck the pedestrian was sent to the hospital for further medical attention. Emergency crews said his injuries were considered to be non-life-threatening.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
