Corpus Christi—Pedestrian Collision Seriously Injured One Person on SPID

At least one person sustained serious injuries after getting struck by a vehicle on South Padre Island Drive and Everhart Road, Monday.
At around 4:30 a.m., police officers responded to the said intersection after receiving a call reporting a collision. According to initial reports, three people were pushing a disabled Honda Civic along the access road when one of them got struck by a vehicle that was turning to the service road.
The force of impact seriously injured the man who was pushing from the Honda’s driver side door, killing him in the process. Fortunately, the two pedestrians were not hurt.
The identification of the deceased victim was not immediately released, but it was confirmed that he was 17 years of age.
No additional details were released as of this writing as the crash remains under investigation.
