Constable’s deputy hurt in alleged hit-and-run crash in SE Houston

HOUSTON, TX – A deputy with the Harris County Precinct 2 Constable’s Office was injured after being hit by an alleged hit-and-run driver in southeast Houston late yesterday, according to KTRK.
The crash happened at about 11:15 p.m. at Sagedowne Lane and Blackhawk Boulevard, about 1.5 miles south of the Sam Houston Tollway. A driver reportedly collided with the deputy’s vehicle, then fled the scene.
The injured deputy called for backup, and a suspect was tased. At least one person was then brought into police custody on undisclosed charges.
The deputy suffered a leg injury and was taken to the hospital to receive treatment.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash at this time.
