Comal County – Anthony Vitrano Injured, Woman Died When Car Overturned on River Way

52-year-old Anthony Vitrano was injured after the vehicle he was driving rolled over on River Way in Comal County.
According to initial reports, Vitrano was driving a vehicle along the southbound lane of River Way when he failed to negotiate a curve and overturned. When authorities arrived at the scene, they found Vitrano and two more passengers with injuries ranging from minor to serious injuries. Vitrano was rushed to University Hospital in stable condition while the two was given medical treatment on scene.
Another passenger sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. She was later identified as Mary Cecelia Courtney, 58, of Midland.
Investigators are still gathering more information about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
DPS is reminding drivers to follow traffic laws and avoid traveling at an unsafe speed especially when approaching a dangerous curve.
