Collinsville – Suspected DUI Collision on US 377 Killed Teen, Injured 2 Others

An auto crash involving a commercial truck took place on US 377 near Collinsville, Wednesday afternoon.
According to the report released by local officials, a commercial truck was heading south on Highway 377 when, for yet unknown reasons, it went out of control and collided with a pickup truck. The impact of the collision killed a passenger in the pickup truck. He was only identified as a 13-year-old passenger. Meanwhile, two more occupants, identified only as 16-year-old teens, in the truck sustained injuries. It was not confirmed if they were taken to a hospital for treatment.
The driver of the commercial truck was identified as 34-year-old Christopher Downing. He was taken into custody and is charged with intoxication manslaughter and three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
