College Station – One killed after a collision on Peach Creek Cutoff

A fatal car accident took the life of one man on the access road of Texas 6, Friday afternoon.
According to Department of Public Safety, the wreck occurred at around 4:00 p.m. A bicyclist was heading south on the access road of Texas 6 when, for yet unknown reasons, a Chevrolet Suburban struck him. The northbound lanes were temporarily closed for the investigation.
The force of impact seriously injured the bicyclist who was identified as 49-year-old Kenneth Spence. He was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the Chevrolet was not identified. He told authorities that he was blinded by the sun.
No charges have been filed as the investigation is still in progress.
