Coleman – Student Died in Fatal CR 223 Crash

A high school student from Coleman was killed after a deadly vehicle accident on County Road 223, Sunday midnight.
According to the the Department of Public Safety, the incident happened just after 12:00 a.m., approximately a mile south of County Road 244 in Coleman County. Police said that a female teenager was riding an off-road utility vehicle when it struck a deer. The impact of the crash ejected the occupant from the vehicle, leaving her with serious injuries. Emergency crews immediately transported the victim to Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo for medical treatment. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries later that day.
The fatality was only identified as a 16-year-old high school student from Coleman.
No one else was injured, as per the release.
The crash remains under investigation.
