Coleman County – Curtis Shipman ID’d Victim of FM 1929 Collision

The Coleman County Police Department has released the name of the victim who died in a fatal car accident on Farm to Market Road 1929 last Monday.
According to reports, the fatality was identified as Curtis Darrell Shipman, 58, of Paint Rock.
Just before 12:00 midnight, Department of Public Safety officials responded to FM 1929, 11 miles south of Voss, after receing a call reporting a collision. Police said a Ford F-250 pickup truck was traveling along the southbound lane when it veered right to avoid a deer at the middle of the road. The driver of the vehicle, Curtis Shipman, tried to go back to the road but the pickup truck ended up in a side skid and overturned. The truck came to rest in a pasture.
The impact of the crash instantly killed Shipman. Based on an initial investigation, Shipman was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
An investigation is underway.
