Clay County— Karen Scott Among Victims of Fatal US 59 Crash

The Department of Public Safety officials have identified the victims who died in a tragic wreck Tuesday morning on Highway 59 near Frog Hollar Road.
According to reports, local officers responded to US 59 after receiving an alert reporting a collision. Details revolving the incident are unclear at this time but authorities confirmed that two sport utility vehicles collided head-on, causing severe damage to both vehicles.
Among the five victims, three of them were rushed to hospitals where they died. They were identified as Karen Scott, 49, of Bowie, Clifford Brooks, 69, of Stafford, and Jose Garza, 44, of Houston, respectively. Two more victims, whose identification has not been revealed, sustained unknown injuries from the force of impact. Their condition was not known as of this writing.
DPS officials continue to investigate the accident.
