Castro County – ATV Collision on County Road 527

At least one person was sent to the hospital following a major ATV collision on County Road 527 in Castro County, a local news source reported.

Based on the initial investigation, an ATV was traveling along CR 527 when it went out of control and left the roadway. The force of the impact ejected its driver who was only identified as a 14-year-old driver. He was sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Police arrived at the scene to determine the circumstances leading up to the incident. They said the teen driver was going at an unsafe speed and was not wearing a helmet. It was not confirmed if he was accompanied by another person.

No charges have been made as the investigation is still in progress.
