According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a fatal accident which involved a Caddo Parish man took place on US 59 north of Linden, Tuesday.
In an unspecified time last Tuesday, DPS officials responded to a deadly car collision in East Texas, southbound US 59. Based on a preliminary investigation, an undescribed vehicle was traveling along the southbound lanes of the highway when, for yet unknown reasons, it went out of control and drifted onto the opposing lanes where it collided head-on with a truck that was hauling a semi-trailer. The truck attempted to avoid crashing into the vehicle but to no avail.
The driver of the first vehicle, Jordan Pierce, 28 of White Hall, was rushed to St. Michaels with unspecified injuries. He was listed in stable condition. His passenger, identified as Billy Buck Pierce, 53, of Pine Bluff, AR, was taken to Michaels Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Fortunately, the truck driver did not sustain injury from the impact.
What caused the first car to drift onto the opposing lanes is yet to be determined by investigators.
Sometimes, a car accident can cause serious injuries to multiple parties—and filing a claim can get complicated. For a claim to be successful, proofs of evidence and documents supporting such are needed to be submitted which will be evaluated by the insurer. Documents such as videos or photographs of the scene, police reports, and medical records are just some of the evidence you can use to file a valid claim.
If you are a passenger in a car involved in an accident, the first thing you should do is seek medical attention for yourself and anyone who needs it. After this, you’ll be asked to provide your contact information in case local authorities need your testimony. Generally, a passenger may have no liability—so the legal process is not necessarily stressful, as long as you follow the legal process.
