Canton – Two-Car Collision on SH 19 Kills 1

At least one person was pronounced dead after a two-vehicle collision on State Highway 19 in Canton, Thursday afternoon.
Just after 2:00 p.m., Canton local troopers responded to a crash involving a truck and a car. A 2011 Buick Enclave was heading south on SH 19 near County Road 1103 when it rear-ended a 2016 Mack garbage truck that was also on the same lane. When a school bus stop for alighting students, the Buick was not able to slow down which resulted in the collision.
The driver of the Buick died as a result of the crash. He was only identified as a 19-year-old male from Como. The driver of the garbage truck was not injured in the crash.
No further details are available at this time.
Local investigators arrived at the scene to determine liability.
