Burnet County – Train Crash on SH 29

Two people were sent to a hospital following a train crash on State Highway 29 in Bertram, Saturday afternoon.

At around 3:00 p.m., an auto versus train crash was reported on Highway 29 near Highway 258. The details of the accident remain unclear at this time but local responders said a vehicle was struck by a train. Two occupants in the car sustained unknown injuries due to the impact of the collision. They were both taken to a medical center where they received proper medical treatment. The extent of their injuries, as well as their condition, remained undisclosed at this time.

No one else was injured.

The Burnet County Police Department is still gathering information about the accident. No charges have been made as the investigation is still in progress.
