Bryson—Two Killed in US 380 Crash

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a car accident which took the lives of at least two people, Thursday afternoon.
According to initial reports, the fatal crash took place at around 5:30 p.m., two miles east of Bryson on US Highway 380. A 2003 Ford F-150 [ickup truck was traveling along the eastbound lanes of the highway when, for yet unknown reasons, it crossed the center line and entered the opposing lanes. An oncoming 2017 Honda SUV tried to avoid the pickup truck by shifting to another lane, but to no avail. Both cars then collided with each other and landed on a ditch.
The impact of the collision killed the driver of the Honda SUV who was identified as Dennis Bennett, 58 of Jacksboro. The pickup driver, identified as Ricky Broom, 63 of Perrin, sustained serious injuries and was then rushed to John Peter Smith hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, after a few hours, he was declared dead.
Both vehicles have no occupants during the time of the crash.
