Brownsville– Teen Died in Crash on FM 1419

The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the man who died in a car accident on Farm to Market 1419 Road, Sunday morning.
According to initial reports, the wreck took place just after 11:30 a.m at the intersection of FM 1419 and Monsees Road. A 2002 GMC Yukon was traveling along the area when, for yet unknown reasons, it struck the rear panel of a passing gray 2001 model Chevy S10. The Yukon then went out of control, crashed into a nearby tree and landed on its roof.
The driver of the Yukon along with his passengers were rushed to a local hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries was not immediately released at this time.
Authorities said that at least one person died as a result of the collision. He was identified as 13-year-old Rodrigo Mancilla.
No charges have been made as the investigation is underway.
