Boy on scooter killed in hit-and-run accident in W Houston

HOUSTON, TX – A boy on a scooter was killed in a hit-and-run accident on Chimney Rock Road in West Houston early this morning, according to an article by FOX 26 Houston and a tweet by the Houston Police Department.
The accident was reported at 1:51 a.m. in the 2600 block of Chimney Rock Road, near Westheimer Road.
According to an initial investigation, the victim was riding a scooter through a crosswalk at an intersection when he was struck by a vehicle. Witness reports state that the boy may also have been hit by a second vehicle, a white wrecker.
Neither driver stopped to render aid to the child, who died at the scene of the crash.
Police have not released the age of the victim at this time.
The accident is under investigation, and police are searching for any possible witnesses to the crash.
