A preliminary investigation shows that a 2015 Chevrolet Cruz was heading north on the highway when, for reasons that had not been determined, it crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder that was traveling along the southbound lanes.
The driver and an occupant in the Chevrolet died from the injuries they sustained from the collision. An occupant in the Nissan was also pronounced at the scene.
Meanwhile, another occupant in the Pathfinder was rushed to JPS hospital where he was listed in unknown condition. Authorities said that he suffered from serious injuries.
No identification has been released at this time.

Some of the deadliest counties for car accidents in Texas are Harris, Dallas, and Tarrant. Among the 620,000 reported fatalities and injuries in the state, more than 4,000 cases were caused by a driver traveling at an unsafe speed. Meanwhile, operators who tested positive for some type of drug are responsible for more than 500 cases that resulted in injuries.
Following a fatal accident, it is important to be familiar with the rights you are entitled to.
