Bowie County – Jay Michael Lohse Died in Fatal Crash on US 259

Local enforcement officials have released the name of the man who died in a deadly two-vehicle accident on US Highway 259 near Dekalb last November 27th.
At around 12:45 a.m., a vehicle towing a trailer was seen traveling on the opposite side of the road. A few moments later, a passing car was not able to avoid the wrong-way vehicle, resulting in a crash. The impact sent one of the vehicles off the roadway and into a ditch where it crashed into a number of trees.
The driver of the first vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was later identified as 35-year-old Jay Michael Lohse. The driver of the second car was not hurt. He was named as 37-year-old Mohammed Anfas Hazuri.
No one else was injured.
An investigation is underway.
