Big Sandy – Speeding Crash on River Rd Leaves 1 Dead

Big Sandy law enforcement officials are conducting an investigation about a vehicle accident on River Road, Tuesday evening.

According to the initial investigation, the crash took place at around 7:00 p.m. on River Road near Big Sandy. A vehicle had been traveling along the roadway when it went out of control and left the roadway. Police said the driver failed to negotiate a curve which caused it to crash. The impact of the collision seriously injured the driver who was only identified as a 27-year-male. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital where he was given proper medical treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after.

No one else was injured.

Police believed that speed may have played a role in the accident. The investigation continues.
