Big rig wreck, lost load closes lanes on IH-10 in north Houston

HOUSTON, TX — An 18-wheeler struck the Houston Avenue overpass early Thursday, losing its cargo to multiple lanes of the Katy Freeway near north Houston, reports Click2Houston.

The incident occurred at the bridge along a span of the White Oak Bayou Greenway at about 3:00 a.m.

According to deputies, the big rig was transporting large and boxy metal objects that fell onto the roadway as a result of the crash. Several lanes were blocked

Authorities warned commuters of heavy delays in the area. No estimated clearance time was announced.

As of this writing, no updates on the driver’s condition have been released.
