Big rig wreck causes hazmat spill on IH-45 in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX — A two-vehicle accident involving a heavy truck was reported Thursday morning on Interstate Highway 45 near Willis, reports Houston Transtar.

The collision occurred on the southbound lanes of the IH-45 frontage road near Shepard Hill Road shortly before 9:47 a.m.

It is unclear what led up to the accident, but the event caused a hazmat spill, impacting three frontage lanes.

As of 11:42 a.m., nearly two hours after the report of the crash, the lanes remained blocked, suggesting a significant crash and response effort.
