HOUSTON, TX – A bicyclist was killed Saturday morning in a hit-and-run accident in southwest Houston, reports KTRK.
The unidentified victim had been traveling in a group with other bicyclists at around 5:30 a.m. on North Braeswood Boulevard and West Loop 610 when a vehicle collided with them.
A representative from the head of the Vehicular Crimes Division of the Harris County District Attorney’s Office said that there was “no question” the driver “knew what they did,” and that the “callousness of that is unacceptable.”
Authorities continue to investigate the incident and believe the vehicle might have damage to its front end due to the impact with the cyclist.
The DA’s Office anticipates they will press charges including failing to stop and perform aid.
