Bicyclist hit, killed by dump truck on Loop 494 in Kingwood

HARRIS COUNTY, TX — A man in his 20s died early Wednesday after being struck by a dump truck while riding a bike on State Highway Loop 494 near west Kingwood, reports Click2Houston.
The fatal incident occurred in the 21700 block of the highway shortly before 4:00 a.m.
It was not immediately clear what led up to the event, but the truck driver stayed at the scene and told responding officers he did not see the bicyclist prior to the crash.
No further information has been made available at this time, but an investigation was underway.
