Bellaire – Woman Struck by a Truck on Bissonet Street

The Bellaire Police Department is conducting an investigation about a scooter-truck accident on Bissonet Street, Friday morning.
At around 9:00 a.m., local responding officers were dispatched to Bissonet near Maple Ridge to assist in a crash. According to the initial report, a woman had just driven out of a driveway, while on her motorized scooter, when she was struck by a passing truck. The woman, whose identification has not yet been released, sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. She was pronounced deceased by emergency crews who responded to the scene.
The driver of the truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. He did not sustain any injury.
Bellaire police said there is no indication that alcohol or drugs played a factor.
An investigation is underway.
