Beaumont – Major Crash on Highway 90

At least one person was killed after a fatal crash on Highway 90 near Keith Road in Jefferson County last Friday.
According to the police, the incident occurred at around 7:30 a.m. on Hwy 90 near the Beaumont Municipal Airport. A Ford Fusion had been traveling south on Keith Rd when it drove into the path of a pickup truck that was heading west on Hwy 90. The pickup truck crashed into the driver’s side of the Fusion, seriously injuring the driver. He was pronounced deceased by emergency crews who responded to the scene. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
No identification was released pending notification of the victims’ next of kin.
Based on the initial investigation, the Fusion failed to yield the right of way which may have contributed to the crash. The investigation continues.
