Ballinger – Teenager Killed in Rollover Crash on US 67

A fatal rollover accident on US 67 in Runnels County caused the death of a Ballinger teenager, Friday evening.
The incident happened at around 8:50 p.m. on US 67 four miles east of Ballinger. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a sports utility vehicle was traveling along the highway when, for reasons that had not yet been determined, it drifted to the right side of the road and continued onto a side skid, struck a fence before landing upside down in a pasture. The impact of the collision ejected a passenger in the process. The victim, identified as a 19-year-old Ballinger female passenger, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was rushed to Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo for treatment of her injuries.
Authorities said that the driver was wearing a seat belt.
The crash is under investigation.
