Axtell – Man Died Following FM 2311 Collision

A wrong way driver caused a vehicle crash on Farm to Market Road 2311 in Axtell.

According to police reports, a vehicle was traveling on the wrong side of the road when it crashed into another car. One of the vehicles caught fire upon the force of the impact. The driver of the wrong-way vehicle, who was identified as 26-year-old Bryan Callahan II, suffered from significant injuries. He was later pronounced deceased by emergency crews who responded to the scene. The driver of the second vehicle was rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment. His condition was not immediately determined by responding officers.

Axtell law enforcement officials arrived at the scene to assist in the clearing.

No charges have been made as the investigation is still in progress.
