Axtell – Major Accident on FM 2311 Leaves 1 Killed, 1 Injured

A fiery vehicle collision on Farm to Market Road 2311 caused the death of one person, Friday.

According to initial reports, the accident happened on FM 2311, just south of Olive Branch Road. A Chevrolet Equinox, for reasons that had not yet been determined, collided with a Volkswagen Jetta. The force of the impact left the Chevrolet with flames. Its driver, whose identity remains unclear at this time, sustained critical injuries and was rushed to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center via helicopter. His condition was not released.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Volkswagen succumbed to the injuries incurred from the crash. He was only not identified at this time.

Axtell police arrived at the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
