Axtell – Fatal Vehicle Collision on SH 31 Leaves 2 Dead

At least two people were pronounced deceased while another was injured after an auto crash on State Highway 31 near Axtell, last Thursday morning.
According to reports, the incident happened at around 10:00 a.m. near Farm to Market Road 2311. Police have yet to release more information about the crash but it was confirmed that a Ford SUV collided with a Toyota pickup truck at the intersection near SH 31. Based on a preliminary investigation, the SUV failed to give way to the pickup truck which resulted in injuries.
The impact of the collision killed the driver of the Ford and a passenger in the Toyota. They were pronounced deceased by emergency crews who responded to the scene. Meanwhile, the Toyota driver sustained non-life threatening injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. His condition was not disclosed.
An investigation is ongoing.
