The Austin Police Department has identified the deceased driver who died in a car accident on Texas State Highway 45, early April.
The fatality was named Wing Cheung Chou, 69. He was driving a 2010 blue Honda when the vehicle accident took place.
According to initial reports, Chou was in his blue Honda heading east on Texas 45 when, for reasons that had not been determined, he lost control of his vehicle and rear-ended a parked Austin Fire Department apparatus truck after sliding into a concrete barrier. Police said that the AFD vehicle was partially blocking a lane to protect a driver loading up a vehicle.
Our sincerest sympathies to the victim of this unfortunate accident. We pray for their full recovery as we hope that the Austin Police Department will do everything to bring those responsible to justice.
The impact of the collision left Chou unconscious with critical injuries. He was rushed to St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries. His passenger, whose name has not been released, also sustained serious injuries. His condition was not immediately disclosed.
Being a victim of a collision is an overwhelming experience. If you are a passenger in a car involved in crash, the first thing you should do is seek medical attention for yourself and anyone who needs it. After this, you’ll want to alert your insurance provider regarding damages or injuries you sustained from the collision. To submit a claim, you would need to gather documents supporting your claim. These may include a video of the scene or a photograph of the damages to the vehicles, police reports stating the facts of the accident, and medical records indicating the severity of your injury, to name a few.
