Austin – SUV versus Motorcycle Accident Sends One to Hospital

A man was hospitalized when his motorcycle collided with an SUV, Saturday night.

Just before 9:00 p.m., Austin-Travis County EMS were dispatched to the intersection of North Lamar Boulevard and Payton Gin Road in response to a call reporting an accident. According to the report, a motorcycle somehow collided with an SUV at the said cross street. How the crash actually happened remains unclear at this time but it was confirmed that the rider of the motorcycle was hurt. He was rushed to Dell Seton Medical Center with critical, life-threatening injuries. Authorities only identified him as a man in his 30s.

The driver of the SUV was not hurt. It was not confirmed if there were other occupants involved in the accident.

The northbound lanes of Lamar Boulevard are shut down while the Austin Police Department investigates the case.
