Austin – Samuel Williams Died in Speeding Collision on South First Street

The Austin Police Department has identified the man who died in a fatal vehicle accident on South 1st Street near West Oltrof Street last March 13th.
The fatality was identified as 22-year-old Samuel Adam Williams.
According to initial reports, Samuel Williams was an occupant in a 2017 Cadillac CTS that was traveling along the southbound lanes of 1st Street. After entering the intersection on a red light, the Cadillac continued on and crashed into a telephone pole. The impact of the collision seriously injured Williams. He was taken to St. David’s South Austin Hospital where he died a week later. Meanwhile, the driver of the Cadillac was taken into custody for investigation. He was not injured.
Area investigators continue to gather information about the crash.
