Austin – Rider Injured in Scooter Accident on East 7th St

Texas Department of Public Safety said at least one person was hospitalized following a moped collision on East 7th Street near Chicon Street last January 3rd.

According to the initial report, a moped was seen traveling along E 7th St when it drifted into the path of a tractor-trailer, hitting it in the process. The impact knocked the moped operator to the ground, leaving him seriously injured. He was immediately taken to a local hospital for treatment. His identification was withheld by responding officers.

Meanwhile, the driver of the tractor-trailer was cited for driving without a commercial license. He was not injured.

Austin police have yet to determine the reason that caused the victim to veer into the semi-truck. The crash remains under investigation at this time.
