Austin – Rider Injured in Collision with Vehicle on Springdale Rd

A biker sustained serious injuries after getting hit by a car on Springdale Road in east Austin, Sunday morning.
Just after 5:00 a.m., Austin local officers received a call reporting a crash at the 7700 block of Springdale Road. According to the report, a bicycle had been traveling along the roadway when, for reasons that had not been determined yet, it crashed. The force of the impact seriously injured the rider. He was given treatment at the scene and was then transported to Dell Seton Medical Center for further care. Authorities said the victim sustained potentially life-threatening injuries after the incident. His identification has not yet been released at this time.
The Austin Police Department arrived at the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident. It is not yet confirmed if the cyclist collided with another vehicle or not.
An investigation is underway.
